$295 ticket costs $100 to cancel
Jul 23, 2008
JetBlue Airways complaint
33% cancelation fee in my case. My in-laws who are in there mid 80"s had a medical emergency and could'nt fly up from Florida. There are no conditional reasons for cancellation acceptable to JetBlue.

Be very sure you are staying healthy prior to your trip.

If you purchase a $100 ticket you lose 100% of the purchase regardless of the circumstances. What's next from the airlines ?

Perhaps a charge for sitting in the boarding area.

How about charging for leg room, Oh they do that already. Maybe you have to purchase a key to put your luggage in the overhead.

I don't want to give them any ideas.

You make it sound like you're such a victim. If the ticket was $800 it would still be $100 to change it. You bought a nonrefundable ticket and agreed to the terms and conditions. Next time buy the full price of a refundable ticket.

The same thing happened to me except the incorrect boarding policy information given to me over the phone by a JB representative caused me to miss my flight. The ticket was $60 and to change to the next flight was an additional $100. Jetblue announced they planned to earn an additional $50 million in revenue this year through this $100 dollar fee. Looks like they are trying to screw the consumer for profit at this point.

Thanks JetBlue :sigh
